Every year the school period starts with huge costs for parents who have to buy necessary copybooks, pencils, pens and blabla... A great list of things! An average budget for all of this including new school clothes is 300-400$.
Moreover, parents have to buy definite books and exercise books for lessons.
Total price is really big.
And if a family has more than one kid....?
It can be super expensive.
Education in our country is free. Yeah. But in fact...
But even it is not all.
I live in the Crimea region, and 9 years ago it was a part of Ukraine.
At that time paying money at school was absolutely normal. Every year or even some times per year a teacher declared that school had definite needs, and parents had to cover them. They said about laçk of financial means from the state all the time.
Ok. Maybe in 90s there was such a problem but now in Russia it is absurd! School and other state organisations get enough budget funds for all needs. All money demands from parents are illegal and forbidden.
But still schools make money on parents and they fear to be "different" and not to give it. They are afraid of bad attitude to their kid and of bad marks of course.
Just shock and outrage!
pc
can you please give money for a new globe?
this topic is so hot that it's a basis for numerous mems and jokes.
but... it exists because parents still pay!
when somebody informs a prosecutor office about such school deals, it stops immediately, and heads of such schools are punished. But they don't inform!
They save such a system by themselves!!
Some days ago I discovered that some parents make repairs in school using their own money! And even more..
They are asked to pay 50$ per each kid in the beginning of the school year.
Wtf??
I was shocked, but parents were glad that only 50$, not more.
Making not complicated counting, I find out that this school has at least 2 mln rubles - about 200,000 dollars!!
For what?
Why?
Where will this money go?
Parents don't ask these questions. They just pay.
I am just happy my boy is unschooled, and I am far from this System.
How much money we have saved...
