I've promised to open my secret about our new pets...and here it's high time! We've got them! Our ANT FAMILY♥️

The story began when my son saw videos in Youtube about ant home farms. He could watch the for hours with huge eye full of interest. I was surprised because I didn't see anyhting cute in them. I don't like insects especially when they are close to me:]

But then I watched some videos with him...and didn't notice that I fell in love with them too! It was SO interesting to stare at them, to analyze what they were doing and why, to feed, to see how their Queen gave birth to new generations, to follow their growth....and to see UNIQUE natural society organisation among insects.
Ants are very clever, and their families and homes are not just a place with primitive insects, they are really logical, wise and very organised creatures!

And we decided to buy our own Ant kingdom!
It is a perfect idea for a kid who is intrested in nature, its creatures and processes. It's a great biology lesson. And it's just super interesting!
You can't imagine how interesting it is to look at their life!!
We even fight sometimes for a place near their Ant city to see them better:)))😅

So we found a special site who sold ants and cities for them and chose one standard set - Ant Queen mother, some ants and their city - a formicarium.

we got them in our parcel

it's their home

They don't lik enoise and vibration so transportation was a great stress for them. We let them rest for some days and then decided to let them go into their new big and nice formicarium.

But they didn not want to leave their comfortable glass tube:]
We used sugar water and a piece of cotton to attract them enter it.

It took long time because they went to sugar water, drank it and went away to their old home:]]
In some days they were relaxed enough and at last went to the formicarium!

So now they live there for about a week, and we love to have our own Ant kingdom at home.

Now my son study their life, watches documentary films, videos, reads a lot how to feed them, how they live, what they like and dislike, how their kids are born....and it's a great example that kids' best study is in their hobbies, when they have REAL interest to the subject!

Do you wanna see news about our ants family?
I hope they will be fine, and soon we'll have a real ant kingdom in our formicarium🍀
