What is homeschooling school? - you can ask. I haven't known it ever until...I've not discovered how kids in Russia study at school now.
It's a process when kids go to school...but...they practice homeschooling in fact. How is it possible?
When I studied at school, we got education there. Its quality depended much on the teacher, but in general it was good educational basis. It was worse than unschooling (now I can compare it because I know what unschooling is), but still it was good. Especially in comparison with the modern education.
Now Russian school education is total trash.
Some years ago I started to get news from my friends whose kids vitied it that school have kids nothing. But early it was from time to time news, now I hear it every day, all people say it!
The program is awful.
Teachers are not interested in giving knowledge.
Moreover they simply can't do it well if they have 45 min and 30+ kids in the classroom.
And the main thing is that nobody pays attention whether a child gets in the info or not - the teacher should go further, the program can't wait, and all the rest 29 kids as well. Even if they don't understand anything either.
The result - all parents pay for additional classes and extratime teachers for kids, which they should attend after school!
So the kid is at lessons from 8.30-2-3 a.m and then he should restudy these lessons with tutors! +1-2 hours.
and then maybe at last time for rest? NO! It's time for doing homework for the next day!
Better to say trying to do it...
In fact, not kids do the homework but the tutors or...parents!
There're a lot of funny pictures in the RuWeb which illustrate the situation well. It's not just humour, it's reality
words: "the 4th form...it's only the beginning..."
It's so complicated and sometimes so stupid that parents spend hours in the Internet to find the way to do the tasks.
It's real stories from my friends whose kids attend 4th-5th forms at schools.
Of course, not all parents have money to pay for tutors, so their kids as a rule have low marks, bad attitude of teachers and bad chances to enter any organisation after graduationg from the school.
Not all parents have time to help kids with their studying and tasks - the result is the same - bad marks.
So for now school is a place where kids go...just because it's a tradition. It is NOT an educational organisation now. Unfortunately.
All parents understand it well. All parents are shocked by this situation but nobody seeks for other educational variants...
In most cases it happens because they just need to go to work, and they need to know their kids go somewhere where there are adults to look after them.
They know nothing about unschooling or....they do not want to know anything of it.
State Education has been destroyed. Knowledges of our kids are only in our own hands.
KIds hate school now. Simply hate. It's a place of communication, but I know no child who says: "Yeah, I like to study at school!"
Now it's summer time, and all kids are happy to be free from school! They hate studying because of such schools. And it's the worst.
