Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
Do you have any favorite clothes that have already been retired? I have this skirt. I just love it.

This is a stunning skirt made from soft natural fabric with a natural, delicate lining. I tried to remember how many years ago I bought this. It turned out that it was 20 years ago!!! And I also remembered that I bought the skirt at a second-hand store!!!!
The only problem with this skirt is that it has faded on the front side and is no longer very decent to wear. I took a photo of the skirt from the front and back for you so you can compare.

Look how well this skirt is made!!! Now you understand why I just can’t throw it away!!! 😀

I came up with the idea to revive the skirt: redo the seams from the back to the front. That is, make the wrong side of the skirt the front side and vice versa. To do this I need to open all the seams and sew them in reverse. It would seem that there is something complicated here? 😀

But there are so many seams!!!!! And it’s very difficult to dissolve them because they are made very professionally. And I was also afraid that if I unraveled all the seams simultaneously, I might not be able to put them back together. Therefore, I decided to unravel the seams gradually and immediately alter them in reverse.

You see here in the photo you can see that I have already redone one seam and the other one still remains the same.

The top photo was taken from the wrong side of the skirt fabric and the bottom photo from the front. See how different the brightness of the color of the fabric is.
At this point I have re-done almost all the seams by hand with a needle and thread (there are only one or two left). The next step is to sew it on a sewing machine. Honestly, I don’t know what will come of this idea of mine, but this is the only chance for me to save my amazing old lady skirt. 😀
(all photos are taken by me)

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
