Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
I finally finished knitting my white sweater!!!!! 💃💃💃
The last time I wrote about my work on it was when I unraveled the first sleeve I knitted to redo it to the size of the second sleeve, which I liked more.
I had to dissolve up to half the fabric and start knitting again. But as our needlewomen probably know, it is much easier to remake according to an existing template, so the work progressed quickly.
Pretty soon my second corrected sleeve was ready.
My next task was to sew the sleeves onto the jacket and see how the jacket would look.
It remains to try it on myself! I am sure you will agree that this is always a very exciting moment: did everything work out well? Is it comfortable to sit on the figure? many questions are raised before fitting. This time I was very pleased with how the jacket sat on me!!!
The last stage of work is knitting straps. My last sweaters I chose crocheted trims. But this time I wanted to make the bar with a regular 1x1 elastic band with holes for buttons. To do this, I still used a hook to the entire circumference of the jacket: tie the left and right straps and the neck with a single crochet. Then I took the knitting needles on the fishing line and collected all these loops on the knitting needles. This time I wanted to knit all this not in parts but as a single whole.
I can’t say that this is a very comfortable knitting, but you can handle it. 😏😃
I wanted to put 6 buttons, so my task was to make 6 loops (or holes) for buttons. I haven't done it in a long time so I had to remember how to do it. As a result, on equal segments, I closed 4 loops.
When knitting the next row, I again scored in those places where there were closed loops of 4 air loops.
I think that 4 loops to close was a lot - the holes turned out to be more than necessary for the size of the buttons. It would be enough to close 3 loops. But I decided not to change anything and finished knitting as is.
I adjusted the size of the buttonholes with a thread and a needle. And finally, after so much time, I did it !!!
The photos turned out not very well because of the wrong blouse. But it was so hot with us that I could not bring myself to put on this sweater again with something more suitable.
I will be able to put on this jacket not earlier than November. Until then, it sits quietly in my closet with other sweaters. Now I finally have a new 100% cotton sweater. Hooray!!!!!
(all photos are taken by me)
Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
