Many people from a village or a local community come together to build a religious place of worship where they can carry out acts of worship. Above all, the electricity bills and expenses for mosques and churches are covered by the local community out of their own pockets. These collected funds are paid to the government. Still, the suggestion that these religious institutions or places of worship should also pay taxes is quite ridiculous. It is an exaggeration of the situation.
The 'elite capture' of the political class that control over society always pass laws to capitalize their wealth and generate a great amount of money. Even if it means extracting money from the bones of the poor. They always design various schemes to extract revenue. Interestingly these days, by imposing levies on petroleum, the government is actively making money. In a normal situation, the government has many other ways to make money, such as squeezing the life of the working and farmer class in the country. As the old saying exactly captures the current stance, The rich do whatever they want, while the poor are simply crushed and suffer in the hands of dominating class. Therefore, if the suggestion is to impose taxes on places of worship to double tax revenue or multiply state money, I do not believe such a measure should be implemented.
The reason behind this is that the burden of paying taxes ultimately falls on the poor. The wealthy manage to secure themselves at every turn. The political ruling class always find a way to exempt themselves from paying any kind of tax. They consider that they are doing a favor by ruling the country as if people of nation are uncivilized and they are the one who are chosen by god. The upper class design policies while sitting in the comfort of air-conditioned rooms, and they work under the delusional idea that everything in the country is running smoothly.
In reality, this is far from the truth. Across the nation, there are multiple households where people sleep at night without having a single meal of the day. I have seen them, and i feel so helpless. Thousands of questions pop up in my mind as popcorn on the stove, but i stand helplessly with prayers in my heart. Also, these people pray to God every time and hope for some source of income. They pray to have just a little to eat and feed their children, but sadly, they can not even secure that much. With each passing day, the situation continues to worsen.
To conclude this topic, I do not approve of this question to impose taxation over religious places. At this critical point of history, while wars are going on, inflation is touching skies, and the life of the poor is miserable. Therefore, the state should be paying money to the poor to thrive in their lives rather than imposing more and more taxation.
