Last Monday, November 22, in my hometown, the birthday of the great prophet Muhammad saw was held. For Muslims in Aceh, celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad with a feast is a deep-rooted tradition. This is seen as a form of Muslim love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
The event was held at meunasah (public buildings in villages as a place to carry out religious ceremonies, religious education, deliberation, etc.) is in Aceh, Indonesia.)
This is a view from the outside of the atmosphere of the maulid, what looks high up is the meunasah roof.
It was seen that several traveling ice cream vendors and other snacks would also enliven the Maulid atmosphere this time. They park their wares near the entrance to the meunasah.
After the event is over, and the merchandise runs out they will return home.
From the inside, it looks like several children have just arrived to enliven the birthday event. They will join and gather in other groups. Those who were earlier were in the meunasah page.
The maulid event itself starts from 10 am until finished, usually this event will begin with a joint remembrance which will be led by a group of adults who have been selected or invited by the chairman of the organizing committee for the maulid event.
The joint remembrance will be finished until lunch time, which is where after the remembrance is finished, it will be continued by distributing [Mawlid celebrations] in the form of food that has been provided by the committee.
The food is made by the residents of the village where the event is held, everyone brings their food to be distributed here including, there is rice and various side dishes that will be served such as fried chicken which is usually the favorite meal of children who attend every birthday event, and other side dishes such as duck eggs which is salted, and a variety of other foods and menus.
Well, don't forget the most special thing here is pulut maulid (glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk and then steamed until cooked, then wrapped banana leaf that has been shaped in such a unique way.)
So for my post this time, there are many things I still want to say but I hope to meet on another occasion.
