It is also called Gwanaksan Namreung or Nambu Ridge because it extends south of the summit, and is usually called Gwanyang Ridge. Shortly after liberation, Gwanyang Elementary School was built here as ‘the sunny place of Mt. Gwanak’, and this is the name of the village and the ridge of Gwanyang-dong.
