You make some very good points @lookplz
That's simply a belief, from my perspective. The thing that really gets to me is that we do not know this. We do not know, not with any true certainty, that life has no meaning or that it does. We can give it meaning or claim that it has none, but we did not create life. We do not know what it was initially created for. This goes hand in hand with religion, which is simply faith or strong beliefs. Religious people give meaning to their life the same way that those who are not do. They decide to believe that life is a certain way and meant to be a certain way.
The way I see it is...what is the purpose of a tree? Or sand? Or a spider? Just because a question such as what or why can be raised doesn't mean it has a answer...or has to have one. We have a deep desire to have all the answers and sometimes we try to fit square pegs into round holes...so to speak.
As topics move from facts to beliefs we need to also be more open to change, ironically we tend to get more stubborn and stuck in our old belief systems when challenged. This happens to me all the time :) and I think this is a natural response.
I started to watch it, but I do not have enough time to complete it right now. I will definitely come back to it later today and adjust my response to you accordingly, after having seen the video in it's entirety. :P
Thanks! Its definitely worth watching...hopefully it helps you feel a little less lost :)
The only way, in my opinion, to fully grasp a concept and see it as many ways as possible, is to listen to and consider other people's perspectives
Amen...well said! I think this is the key, it allows for a more rounded understanding of the subject.
