This is the greatest aspect of life - that it has no meaning to it and there is no need for it to have a meaning. - Sadhguru
That's simply a belief, from my perspective. The thing that really gets to me is that we do not know this. We do not know, not with any true certainty, that life has no meaning or that it does. We can give it meaning or claim that it has none, but we did not create life. We do not know what it was initially created for. This goes hand in hand with religion, which is simply faith or strong beliefs. Religious people give meaning to their life the same way that those who are not do. They decide to believe that life is a certain way and meant to be a certain way.
For me, the desire for a purpose in life is the problem.....it becomes this trap that we get stuck in and round and round we go never getting out.
I feel that. That could very well be my issue in all of this. The idea that my life actually needs any purpose to begin with. Maybe it doesn't! For me though, we either have a purpose or we do not, there is no in-between. Life as we know it was either by design, or by complete chaos. Either way, it is unknown to us so far.
Also, if so many of us seek purpose on so many levels, you have to also beckon the question of "Why?"
Why do we seek that purpose?
Why do we feel that we need to?
Why is it in our nature to seek it out?
Maybe we seek that purpose because we are meant to.
Maybe having a purpose IS the point of life in the first place.
That could be why people are so driven, by nature, to seek one out.
Also, you may be correct... that nature, in it's most bare form, IS what is causing us to feel so lost.
Maybe the fact that certain people cannot see logic or reason in providing their own construct of purpose, is the issue in-and-of-itself.
That could be what causes that infinite loop of being "lost."
Is it our faults though that we seek out purpose?
Is it our faults that we are acting how we feel is natural to us, but do not have answers for our questions?
I had similar questions at one point, I strongly recommend you watch this video. It really helped me understand and is by far one of the best I've watched personally.
I started to watch it, but I do not have enough time to complete it right now. I will definitely come back to it later today and adjust my response to you accordingly, after having seen the video in it's entirety. :P
Thank you for your input! I appreciate you taking part in this conversation! Any and all perspectives are welcome on this matter, as I feel it would be very closed-minded to just shirk off someone's opinion. The only way, in my opinion, to fully grasp a concept and see it as many ways as possible, is to listen to and consider other people's perspectives on any given matter.
