International Cricket Council held a meeting in London recently and suspended Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect. They quoted that there was a serious breach of article 2.4 (c) and (d) which direct q particular board to refrain from politics in cricket. The board was found to be guilty as there were a lot of political interferences.

Zimbabwe was a full member of the ICC though they didn't get many chances to play. Zimbabwe Cricket had been struggling from the past decade or two and the quality of cricket was going down. The salary of the players was very low and they found it very difficult to continue playing cricket. I am afraid, things are going to get worse now as their salaries will not be paid.
The ICC further said that the finding will be frozen and as a result, Zimbabwe cancelled the Bangladesh tour which was scheduled to happen in September this year. It was a triangular series with Afghanistan as the third team.
This is really a bad news for Zimbabwe Cricket as well as for the rest of the cricket World. Over the years, Zimbabwe has produced some great players like the Flower brothers, Heath Streak, Brendon Taylor, Neil Johnson, Campbell, the inventor of the ramp shot - Douglas Marilier to name a few. We will surely miss Zimbabwe and all we can do is hope that the things get better and ICC reinstates them.
