Superar los desafíos de construir intencionales ha requerido soltar las expectativas rígidas, aprender a comunicar lo que sentimos sin filtros y entender que la presencia no siempre significa estar juntas físicamente todos los días, sino saber que la otra persona está ahí a un mensaje de distancia. Lo que más he llegado a apreciar de la energía femenina compartida es;

There are days when I like to sit in my favorite corner of the house, pour myself something warm, and let my thoughts flow at their own pace. This week, the Ladies of Hive community has posed two questions about friendships—the bonds we forge as women, and how we find, support, and accompany one another through life's various stages.
There is an old belief—almost an inherited myth—that genuine female friendships are hard to come by or are rife with competition and friction. To be completely honest, I wondered for a long time if this was true, but life has shown me that when two women connect authentically, they create a safe, indestructible sanctuary.
Looking back at my school and high school years, I was fortunate enough to meet and share experiences with wonderful people. I cherish beautiful memories from that time; however, deep down, there was always a different undertone—I often felt like the black sheep of the group. I felt I didn't quite fit into any tight-knit circle, and while that made me feel out of place at the time, I now realize it was a gift. It gave me the opportunity to move through various social spheres, encounter diverse realities, and open my heart to different personalities.
Now, in my adult life, my perspective has evolved. I fully understand that everyone has their own routines, jobs, families, and personal journeys. That is why I have never felt—nor do I feel—like an imposition in anyone’s life. I respect others' time and have learned to make peace with my own solitude, seeking a healthy balance between my personal space and a sincere desire to build new circles of connection.
Let’s be honest: forging a real, deep friendship these days is complicated. The pace of adult life consumes us, and the demand for immediacy sometimes dilutes genuine connections. Yet, this hasn’t caused me to close myself off to other women; on the contrary, it has led me to approach relationships with more patience and empathy.
Overcoming the challenges of building intentional connections has required letting go of rigid expectations, learning to communicate our feelings without filters, and understanding that "presence" doesn't always mean being physically together every day—but rather knowing the other person is just a message away. What I’ve come to appreciate most about shared feminine energy is:
Intuitive empathy: That almost magical ability we have to read each other's eyes without needing a single word.
Non-judgmental support: Finding a space where you can be vulnerable, imperfect, and completely yourself.
Mutual celebration: Watching another woman shine and sincerely rejoicing in her achievements, knowing that the sun rises for us all.
If I were to recall a memorable experience that forever transformed my view of loyalty, a very specific moment from my adolescence comes to mind. I was about to turn fifteen and was going through the darkest, most difficult period of my life: a severe depression stemming from family problems that completely clouded my judgment, shattered my self-esteem, and destabilized my sense of self.
Although deep down I held onto the hope that a bad chapter didn't mean a bad life, the emotional burden was overwhelming. In the midst of that storm, my grandfather passed away. His passing brought a mix of relief and grief; he had been suffering from prostate cancer, and watching him in pain was agonizing, so his death came as a release for the family. It was at that precise moment that my best friend at the time stepped up for me. She didn't need to offer elaborate speeches or rehearsed phrases; she was simply there, holding me up.
What left an indelible mark on my heart was discovering that she, too, was weathering her own storm: her mother was battling cancer. Her presence and her story showed me that many people around us are fighting silent internal battles—wars they don't speak of, yet carry within, causing them deep pain.
That friendship changed my outlook on life. We were both perfectionists regarding our grades and deeply committed to a quality education; we could talk about anything, which allowed us to connect easily. She helped me become more empathetic, realize I wasn't the only one facing hardship, and value quiet loyalty. We don't speak anymore, but I cherish the memories and always wish her the best.
If today you feel like you’re struggling to find your place, or if you find yourself trying to reconcile your solitude with the desire to find real friends—don’t despair.
Embrace your authenticity: Being the "black sheep" or not fitting into pre-set molds simply means your soul is seeking connections that are more aligned and true.
Cultivate your own company: Solitude, when embraced well, gives you the clarity to choose friendships that add peace and joy to your life—not to fill a void, but to share the journey.
Spread the word and be a sanctuary: The best way to attract genuine friendship is to be the loyal, understanding, and attentive friend you would want to have yourself. Remember, we all carry invisible struggles; always be kind.
