The best picture from my last trip out West.
After a long day of hiking, we came to a hill that seemingly felt like another monument of a job well done. Josh, my hiking buddy, was turned around taking a photo of where we had come from as I got this surreal view. My words were useless as I prompted him, in haste, to top the hill for a better shot with his new camera. As he made his way to my position, I saw his eyes light up when he witnessed the pyramids ranging all the way to our perspective horizon. We both had to reassure one another that we saw the same thing. The best way to describe it was like walking through a the portal on the movie "Stargate". This picture was taken in the Grande Staircase Escalante National Monument. More archaeological digs have been successful discovering large dinosaur skeletons here than any other place in the world. It was amazing,
to say the least.
With the Sun's positioned light, I called this one "Mother In Prayer."
Later we found out the US government had allowed this land's sale on the same day. Apparently, this land is rich in what others could profit from while digging up metals. It's very sad to realize that this place may not remain the same in the near future. In my opinion, we should fight to keep these lands wild, free, and and protected from those who seek to profit from its monetary riches.
Stand up for OUR land,
