A good friend/mentor told me about Steemit so I popped on over here to see. I really had no expectations but have been so unimpressed with other social media platforms and the way they are inundated with uninteresting, vitriolic, and bland content that I really didn't expect to find much. But WHAT DO YOU KNOW, there's a thriving community of artists working symbiotically to help one another. To be frank, it's almost a dream that Ive once had and it can be seen almost as a memory. I've had a few rules while operating in other social media sites such as always post something that is inspiring, funny, or is a representation of my creativity (radio shows, events, photography, poetry, art, etc.). After finding out more and more about Steemit, I realized that this is essentially a community of people who believe the same way I do. I have a radio show here in Birmingham called Sweet Science Radio (hence the name) and it is a weekly show where a feature several new, regional, and National artists on the FM dial on 107.3 FM here in Birmingham and 97.5 Tuscaloosa on Birmingham Mountain Radio. Using my education as a graphic design student at UAB, I have used my skills and visual art to help promote my shows. I am a father of two, a husband, a musician, a riverkeeper, an outdoorsman, and travel a lot. I like to put myself in situations that are unfamiliar and hard. I feel like being in the wilderness or experiencing culture shock is the movie of the mind. This helps me essentially re-create my perception from finding better perspectives. I see life as an assent to the pinnacle of the pyramid and every once in a while it's important to just turn around, sit down, and take a gander how far you've come. I know it sounds cliché, but I don't believe that the point of existence is finding a destination. I believe the journey is the objective. So to the answer the question of why I would be good for the alliance is that I am here, anywhere, everywhere, to communicate through several mediums of my perspective with love, kindness, humanity, and gratitude. I'm in love with the idea of symbiosis and the way that Steemit has provided a platform for like-minded artists to participate on that level. Joining others in an infinite play of creation while creating the currency of relationships and crypto, is a genius idea that I've been looking for. It goes beyond words, but the only way that I can define it is that Steemit very serendipitously landed in my lap. I live my life through the synchronicity as if it was my own personal Tao. It's my truth and everyone has their own. The object is to describe this truth through my five senses to the best of my ability and in that process help others find theirs. Love and gratitude!
