I felt that I had done well in the tasks such as, like changing the power cables, from the United States plugs stranded and replacing it with the Singapore 3 pin plugs stranded. Since my company equipment are mostly from the United States, there is a need to replace around close to 200 pieces of power cables just by cutting off the end of the plug and cutting the wire outer insulation then putting the correct wire in the correct order. A lot of mains powered appliances need three wires to work safely. Only two of the wires are used when the appliance works properly. These are the live (brown) and the neutral (blue) wires. The live wire carries current to the appliance at a high voltage. The neutral wire completes the circuit and carries current away from the appliance. The third wire, called the earth wire (green/yellow) is a safety wire and connects the metal case of the appliance to the earth. This stops a fault making the case of the appliance live.
Q2: A positive (good) or negative (bad) feeling I had this week was …
A positive feeling I had this week was that that I am able to go to some commonly known company like SingTel, SIM and National Archives Singapore being able to be in different environment and meet different people makes me feel more confident in being able to talk to strangers. I used to be a very shy person and now I'm starting to open up myself and being able to speak with confidences.. Also knowing what is going on in each industry is also very important for me to look forward into the future as what jobs has a brighter future for me to aim for.
Also when to SingTel to help them install some programs and also update their Mac(Macintosh) operating system for their computers. It was an easy task to do as we just have to install the programs like and I also helped them to add some user into the servers
I also followed my Sales team to have a demonstration of some lighting products I know that the markets is very competitive hence the customer has to choose between (quality = US, Japan, Korea and more) or (quantity = China)
Q3: The question that I asked my company trainers in the last 1 month are...
I didn’t want to just ask any ordinary technical question but I wanted to ask my colleague on how did he gone through his work life since he joined this company seven months ago and he told me a lot of interesting thing that may happen in life as well I strongly believe that knowing someone experience is very important as well. As that’s what I'm gonna face in the next few years. Most of my colleague that I have asked are mostly not really educated as most of them stopped studying at around secondary schools even the boss doesn't come from a rich family as well. But they still get paid $2000 or more. One of them told me it's not about just having to study continuously but also the most important part is the experiences and he implied that " you won't be starved when you work hard but you will only be starved when you are lazy. " It will definitely be a quote I will always remember and to motivate myself at times where I want to give up.
