Pigeon is a symbol of peace. It is our roof picture. I like to keep pigeons very much, so I kept pigeons in a small arrangement on the roof. There are about 40 pigeons here,different colors and few species.
Pigeons are easily domesticated and there is no extra cost to keep pigeons. Pigeon meat is very tasty and energy boosting. Protein content is higher than other poultry meats. As a result, besides non-vegetarian meat, pigeon meat is also consumed to meet the additional demand.
Many people have been able to establish a profitable business in a short period of time by keeping pigeons commercially. Pigeons generally live in pairs. Each pair consists of one male and one female pigeon. They live from 12 to 15 years. As long as they live, they reproduce through eggs.
Usually a good breed pigeon can lay 12 pairs of eggs in a year. Almost every one of these eggs hatches. These babies are ready to eat or sell within 4 weeks.
Pigeon eggs hatch in just 18 days. After 5 to 6 months these babies start laying eggs on their own. As a result, pigeons continue to increase their numbers naturally.
