A few weeks ago I visited Bendigo, a small town in the vicinity of Melbourne, with one and only reason - enjoy some blues and friendship.
Blues and roots festival hosted more than 120 acts in 44 venues across the town.
These venues are actually regular coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, parks, narrow corridors and the old Church at the hill - the whole town is turned into one big music festival and everyone is out. We had a bit of a downside feeling - it was cold (yes in Australia it can get cold), well cold enough that you can't enjoy being outside - and you never dress for cold weathers here (at least my naive experience says so).
Blues, rock, jazz, gospel - pick your genre and there is high probability one of the local musicians is singing somewhere in the town.
