Swayambhunath lies like a cherry on hill-top inside the Kathmandu valley. The architecture is believed to be created around 640 CE. While you climb the upstairs and make it to the top, the eyes of Buddha gaze upon you with blessings. And the white dome view pour your heart with the essence of purity and holiness

The dome refers to the world, the eyes of Buddha refers compassion and wisdom. There are 13 pinnacles on the top which refers to the 13 spiritual stages of human life. Above the main pair of eyes, is the third eye of Buddha. It reflects the opening of cosmic rays as after the preaching of Lord Buddha.

It was a great feeling being wrapped in the holiness of the place. A feeling one can embrace and remember for life.

Things to consider:
If you are traveling with food in hand, the monkeys will hover around to snatch. If you want to giveaway to them, that's great.
The evening gets more lights and great view. Being there around dusk, can be the best time.
The uphill stairs climb will take almost 10-20 minutes. So, if you have breathing problem, be considerate.
There are plenty of restaurants down the base, you can enjoy the spot.
