This chapter gives a list of the descendants of Adam down to the flood. The names refelct the godly line that stood for God in an increasing corrupt age.
A basic motivation in all humanistic society is the attempt to overcome the curse placed on sinners, find pleasure and regain "paradise" without submission to God.
Let talk about the generations of Adam.Gen.5;1-21, in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 selected two individuals (Abel and Enoch) for special mention from his period as those who pleased God by their faith. (Hebrews 11;4_5). These two were among the remnants,the faithful few who refused to go the way of Cain. The bother stood on ground of righteousness, despite the fact that there was corruption everywhere. They stand still with God
During that period all men went their ways only view worshipped God, and remained faithful to him.
In today, if we feel that we are standing alone in our faith in God and his word, we must remember we are never alone. God still has his thousand throughout the earth who remain faithful to him and his cause.
Brethren we should please pursue righteousness, ready to serve God when all men decide to go wayward. Many have forsaken God because fathers forsook God; others choose to sin because their friends have made sin a habit. My beloved brothers and sisters what about you? Remember, the soul that sinneth, it shall die!
Working with God Gen 5;22-23
The Bible recorded that" Enoch walk with God" that is he live by faith in God. He trusted in his word and promises, he live a holy life and embrace God's way while standing firm against the ungodliness of his generation.
We all know that Enoch please God (Hebrews 11;15). His life style, message, and sympathy with God so pleased that the Lord honoured him by taking him away from the earth to be in his presence forever without experiencing death. My question our we living a life that will be recorded for good as Enoch?
Finally brethren, we can make good history in our generation if we choose to live in righteousness, affect lives and preach the message of emancipation through Jesus Christ. To preach the goodness is the responsibility of every Christian.
