For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
Fools have a lack of good sense. They cannot quit foolishness. Instead of walking they run with great haste to their destination, which is more wickedness. They choose to rush so that they can satisfy their lusts which are evil. ( Ephesians 4:17–19 ). Because fools have this trait, young men should stay as far away as possible from sinners and fools.
After King Solomon introduced the book of Proverbs, ( Proverbs 1:1–9 ) he wrote a parable in which he warned his son about the danger, the grave danger of associations which are evil. ( Proverbs 1:10–19 ). Young men are destroyed more by foolish friends than any other factor. A young man is enticed by a band of cutthroats to join them, which this parable descibes. King Solomon told his son where such sinners and fools were headed.
Their mad rush to more and more evil is their dangerous association with wicked men. And the danger that comes with such association. Regardless of how strong your desire is to avoid wickedness and sin, the power of peer pressure along with their enticing invitations will be too much to resist. These sinners and fools will most certainly go down, and you will go down with them! Before ending the parable King Solomon made this clear. ( Proverbs 1:17–19 ).
