Namaste,
Welcome to my not so interesting basic life, and all I could discuss is either my work or my home. Someday maybe I'll travel and bring some interesting content till then good luck.
So today at work some people come over to renovate our office, in the afternoon after getting real annoyed at the smell of paint and sound from machines I finally asked one of them, how much time is this renovation process going to take as I'm tired and having headaches. I think he must be frustrated from work or so because he snapped at me stating we're not enjoying it here, it's our job as well. I said ok and moved on from his response. Later that evening after finishing all my work, it crossed my mind that maybe I should talk to him and divert my mind from the headaches because I've to wait till they wrap their work. So I came close to the person who was painting the wall and started observing him, the one who earlier snapped at me. Eventually I asked him, where are you from, and he said siwan, bihar; a state in india. Oh nice! it's my maternal home, and it now it's easy to talk. So we started discussing things from our locality, and I asked him when do you guys get leaves from work to visit your family and he said the company doesn't have paid leave policy so we go whensoever he have saved enough money to skip job.
After having a bunch of discussion, I asked my office boy to get me some tea but he being a total ignorant, ignored me, I asked him again as I know he is lazy and doesn't listen on one instruction. But the person whom I was talking to earlier was definitely an active listener and got two 50 rupees note out of his torn pant pocket.
His this gesture immediately made me forget all my practicality and calculative nature and dropped me there where I was a small town innocent village girl full of life and the place where everyone is so helpful and natural. Village and villagers are the heart of India and we still are full of culture and innocence. In village, the younger one's are not supposed to pay and we girls are considered devi (goddess).
I still couldn't forget the sensation what that moment brought to my soul and I'm writing this to let everyone know a feature that real India lies in the village, not in any metropolitan city or in any monuments, it's in villagers heart. They still to this day, don't let a stranger sleep on streets empty stomach.
Atlast I'm sharing some pictures of him and his clothes drying on our boundary of our building as the people those who come to bank to renovate bank branches are always traveling and they do not get place to stay or even do laundry.
That's it for today, and this is my experience visiting my hometown in a city.
Have a great day ahead.
