Whether the shaft should be leaning or vertical at impact is controversial: Moe Norman and Dalton McCrary both impact the ball the way they address it: with very little or no shaft lean. However, according Bobby Clampett and his Impact Zone golf method (as well as the Golfing Machine), the hands are supposed to be in front of the ball at impact.
