I know you have seen the meme concerning these kekeriders(tricyclists) and their mad DJ mix, have you? Well I just want to share my experience concerning that.

The other day, I was to visit my parents at the new location they had only recently moved into. I was coming from around about mile one. I had gotten to eleme junction so I boarded a keke. As soon as I entered, Christ!! You needed to have heard the sweet DJ mix jam playing very loudly. I don’t know where all these Keke-riders get their's from. The speakers were very loud making the beats maddt.

That day I was having a mood swing caused by my monthly girlfriend visitation. LMAO. But at that very moment, the jam hit my medulla oblongata and I did not know when the whole moodswing disappeared. I was jamming and vibing to the song, showcasing my great dance steps (in my head of course)… you know what I mean.

Before I knew it, we were already at Mega filling station, my bus-stop. But while I had been busy in the realm of the spirit, dancing to the jam, I did not notice the driver pass my stop. It was only after we had gotten to Transformer, the second to the last busstop that realized I myself and yelled, "Jesus! I’ve passed my stop!"

Driver: you say what? Why did you not talk?

At this time, other passengers turned to look at me like I was stupid.

Trying to hide my embarrassment, I said, "no worry. I have to pick something first before going back." That was a lie. A big fat one.

Driver: I could have said. How possible is it that a grown man as yourself does not know his way.

Me: ….*laughs...

I did not actually know my way. My only saving grace was that, it was a straight no-bend route.

When we got to the next and final stop, I got down, paid the driver 200naira rather than the 100naira I would have paid if I had come down at my stop. I crossed to the other side of the road and then it dawned on me how stupid I was. Because, why exactly am I there?

And because I did not want my enemies and village people to win, I bought mangoes worth 300naira...just to shame them.

Then I had to enter another vehicle back to my stop. A Keke pulled up in front of me. I was about to get in when I heard some sweet music jamming from the speakers. I retreated and told the driver I would not be boarding. Not again, satan. Not again!

I waited until a bus showed up and I boarded it. It was only after the bus I took had started out on the journey that I remembered that no one (including myself) eats mango in my house.

At that point, I could hear my village people laugh at me. Just imagine all of my losses. All for what? Mad jam that I have even on my phone. I've not boarded a keke ever since. The day I would, I'd be sitting beside the driver in front. SMH!
