What we have forgotten in this era that we are is that going to the university to study 馃摎 and obtain a certificate in a certain area of discipline or course of study is not a joke. I mean, going to school in simple and clear understanding for four (4) to five (5) years, to put effort and master a skill is not something we should be comparing to today鈥檚 online influencers, who might have used lots of money to buy those numbers on his/her page called followers.
In this present generation, many things have changed which is why you see that those who did not attained universities can easily acquire wealth just because they became famous, might be through YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and all the rest of them. This is where the problem lies. Fame can be purchased with money 馃挵 this days, making them coming out in the internet to show themselves.
In my opinion, influencers and professionals can never be compared in any form. A professional doctor can never be compared to an ordinary influencer who came to the Internet to be marketing a certain drug. I think what it is , is that influencers has their area of specialization. They know what to advertise and what not to, hence the should not be mocked despite what ever level of influencing they have.
We should take for instance, an influencer coming out in the Internet to influence people to buy a Blood Pressure drugs. This can never happen in the first place because this is a drug that must be prescribe by a qualified doctor at the hospital 馃彞. Secondly, prescriptions are given after checkups and test, so it will be very inadequate for an influencer to influence on this kind of pharmaceutical product.
The problem is because we do not have laws over this influencing issues where because of amount of followers, companies are signing with influencers to market for them. I mean if the government has implemented laws over marketing of products by the right personals who really has the right awareness and knowledge to impact when advertising a certain product.
Trusting an influencer who is not qualified to advice over a product is very risky and dangerous to those who will involve in using what ever he/she has introduced or recommended to them. People should be careful over being a fan of someone who goes all the way to talk about things they are not qualified on. Other products like fashion, make-ups, beverages and likes can just be marketed by anyone. But when it comes to medicals, especially drugs that needs prescriptions, qualified personals like a a doctor or pharmacist should be in charge.
