Hi everyone!
Welcome to part two of my incredible unfolding adventures in New Zealand.
Having reached the summit of Taranaki volcano on my first day I was now set to explore Dawson Falls and The Goblin Forest.
My whole experience in this place was nade even more special by the fact that the lodge and surrounding forest and volcano were completely devoid of other human beings- I was completely alone for the whole adventure! That is a rare thing in the world today especially at tourist hotspots. Maybe it was due to it being Christmas or maybe after the eruption a few days earlier at white Island ( close by) when some tourists had sadly lost their lives. Whatever the reason I found myself in a completely fairytale like situation surrounded by the beauty of nature and sounds of the forest animals and birds with the sound of running water always in my ears!
It was magical, majestic and possibly the best Christmas road trip ever!
The K膩mahi trees are formed like this as a result of these trees growing from stumps of trees killed in the last eruption and subsequent ash shower in 1655 A.D
The whole experience was so amazing. The air was so clean and I drank from the water and even submerged my body in the stream water for just a few moments. It was ice cold but there is certainly therapeutic value in doing these cold water plunges. They are becoming popular more now.
I hope you enjoyed this and keep watching for more yet to come. New Zealand is a phenomenal place of natural beauty!
Peace and love to you all 馃檹
