Do any of your pets love to lay in the sun? My girl Mika sure does. This is her lying on the lawn just soaking up some rays.
On this day she is lying on her back doing the same while we are sitting on the back porch. Maybe her belly needed a little warming up on this afternoon.
I love this photo of her just chilling out watching the yard for any squirrels or chipmunks that may wander in.
On this afternoon, she must have been too warm for the sunshine, instead, she decided to lie down on my footstool.
Mika is sound asleep next to my feet while lying in the sunshine once again. Even though the porch is mostly shaded, she still chooses to bask in the late afternoon sun. She does not seem to be bothered by the heat too much even if it is really hot that day.
Even inside the house she still seeks out any spot on the floor where the sunlight streams down.
She had even found a spot where the sun was hitting the first step going into the family room. She decided to put down the toy she was playing with and take a little sunshine break.
She is the first dog that I have owned that loves the sun as much as she does. I once had a cat that would do the same thing, but, if I remember right it was mostly during the winter months. That was probably due to the long periods of time between sunny and cloudy days. I wonder if Mika will do the same thing and warm herself up when the sun shines through the windows.
Today was just a little post sharing how cute my little girl can be. See, even the animals know how much the sun is vital to a healthy life.
