Hahaha, Virginia is definitely a different place to settle into. I have many family members that live down there and it takes time to get used to the weather, hot and rainy, then dry as a boneyard, lol. Anyhow, I hope you like your new life down there and red soil, I agree, brown it should be. The garden looks great and yes that is Quartz, I know I brought back a large piece last time I was visiting family.
