Even in the bird world, couples stick together, even if it's bathing time. These sparrows are enjoying taking a nice dip in the little water feature next to my pond.
I put this together hoping that the hummingbirds would enjoy the shallow water. But all the smaller birds like to splish and splash and come for a drink throughout the day.
These two are certainly sharing a moment together. It was so cute watching them preen next to each other afterwards.
Here is a Goldfinch dropping by for a drink. I've yet to see them taking a bath, but have seen them cleaning their feathers in a dirt bath. Also, I often see him come with his mate to the water; watching togetherness in action in the bird world is so sweet.
