When I decided to grow plants in these coconut shell planters on the Kenya coast, I wasn't sure how long they would last. ๐ต๐
The succulents were transplanted along with a dozen other plants 8 months ago. We drilled holes into the coconut shells for draining, filled them with dirt, and then transplanted the succulents with love. ๐
I have been a succulent lover all my life! ๐ That's why for my first post on HIVE I was so excited to find this community. ๐ฒMy plants bring me so much joy, and the way these mighty succulents can grow against all odds is inspiring.
Nice to meet you! ๐ My name is Sunny, I'm a plant lover and nature inspires me every day. My passion is to spread a compassionate lifestyle to the world. I advocate for healing through plant medicine and a plant-based lifestyle.
I love growing plants for medicine, food, herbs and spices. Fun fact about me: my ideal first date is a trip to a botanic garden! And every time I travel I make sure to visit the local city's gardens and learn about the plants native to that area. ๐๐ฑ๐ฒ
I'm so proud of my succulent's growth over time! The beautiful macrame hangers were made by my wonderful artist friend Poupoute. Follow her, and follow me!
Succulents have taught me that LESS IS MORE. Nature's intelligence is inspiring. Watering once a week, often with nitrogen-rich substances, and lots of sunlight was key. ๐
I'm excited to meet more plant lovers and to be on my HIVE journey! Thank you all for appreciating nature in all her beauty. ๐ Follow me on twitter and show me more about the HIVE community!
