Two years ago in my op: Tucker Carlson and His Spin The Tale On The Chickens, there were, according to department of agriculture official, 372 million chickens in the US. If each of those chickens (which not all will, right now the stat is 82.5 or 85.2 out of each hundred without having to go look at some figures I have been gathering), but if each chicken were to produce an egg a day back then, that would leave 46 million eggs left over if every man, women and child was given one egg a day. The next day the process starts all over. But to argue your point, there isn't hundreds of millions of chickens in the US, there are hundreds of millions of eggs, actually billions.
The white house Easter egg roll, egg industry suppliers of the event, said there were 9 million one dozen large eggs sold every day in the US. The small and medium eggs, they said, weren't for retail sales. If they are not selling the small and medium eggs in the country anymore, where are they? You don't see them hardly anymore, once in awhile you see medium eggs but it's rare.
