I know right...lol. If things don't get better by the end of the year I may have to invest in a dehydrator for longer storage. Canning, which I've gotten into the last couple years is intensive and takes up a lot of space. Freezing is easier where you can freeze foods but that also takes up a lot of space and if the electric should go out for any number of days you may loose everything you got in there. That actually happened a few years ago, that's why with that and the cost escalating I got into canning, my electric went out for four days. After the first day things started to thaw so I ended up having to cook everything that was in the refrigerator freezer and the extra refrigerator in the basement freezer. I than took the stuff over to my kids house and they refroze it for me until the electric came back on. I want to get one of those Generators that run on natural gas if your electric goes out but they are like five thousand dollars. I'd like to move first if I was going to go that route but can't seem to figure out exactly where I'd like to go without having to downsize to one place, I'd lose the extra income from my duplex if I did that. The nicer area's don't have the rentals like the inner city area's and it's the inner city area I'd like to get out of.
