However, what you say is untrue. You have 200 more dollars worth. However, you have earned 150 or so more HIVE by the looks of things, because on Hive, the distribution mechanism is far better than Steem now.

You are missing the point. Of course we were given matching amount of Hive as to what we had in steem when the changeover occurred. I've gained more in Hive power but it amounts to less compared to having nearly the same identical amount of steem that I had when the changeover occurred. In a given case like that it means more Hive but less money, in steem almost identical steem more money. I don't see how you can miss the logic there.
