Not it isn't. Those accounts in Steemit Trending are not only alts, most of them are the witnesses.

The greater fear was that whales on Hive were afraid of incoming whales on steemit and how that would effect their control and power.

The point now is that whatever they are doing over there they must be doing it right if small accounts are making better gains no matter how insignificant they are in the overall scheme of things, especially so considering the participation level is lower in comparison.

However, what you say is untrue. You have 200 more dollars worth. However, you have earned 150 or so more HIVE by the looks of things, because on Hive, the distribution mechanism is far better than Steem now.
