I had thought about making the bottoms out of wood like when making a regular planter then drilling holes in it. The price of wood makes that rather expensive compared to your idea, replacing the burlap every so often also wouldn't seem to be quite as expensive replacing wood that could develop wood rot over time as using treated lumber wouldn't seem like a very good idea. I appreciate you thoughts on the subject.
