Having good and strong faith in God helps us to overcome peer pressure, because we will focus on God instead of the things happening around our environment. We should not put hope on the things in the world but put our trust and hope on God. We can overcome pressure by praying, knowing God’s Word, and asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom and courage. We should also remember that our identity and worth come from God, not from the approval of our friends.
Wise friendships also help us resist negative peer pressure. We should choose friends who encourage us to do what is right and who respect our faith and values. When others pressure us to do something wrong, we can politely but firmly say no and walk away. By trusting God and following the example of Jesus Christ, we can remain faithful even when others do not agree with our choices.
