Oh yeah, Saturday evening I was able to get away fro town for a while so I headed over to Hood River, Oregon for the Hops Fest! It's been about 10 years since I was last at this festival and at that time I was working as a chef in one of the local restaurants so I had to work AT THE BEER FEST!! The owner of the restaurant got a booth so we humped two full-size propane-fired deep fryers and a flat-top grill down and made freaking french fries and chicken skewers all damn day.
So I was quite happy to attend Saturday as a patron.
Admission was $20 which included one glass and 5 tokens. Each token was for a 3oz "taste" (about 1/4 of that glass) but no one poured less than half a glass :)
There were a TON of brewers there, maybe 35, and this is one of the two beer tents.
They had two of these things...
And this booth
9-D? Bitch, please! GTFO! If one of those "D" ain't beer then you in the wrong neighborhood, dude.
It was crowded and LOUD! There is an identical tent like that behind me as I took this picture.
Then, there was this mistake.
I ended up buying 10 more tokens at $1 each and I tried to keep a list of the brews with the name of the brewery and the beer name/flavor...
I had to wait a while to drive home so I headed over to Andrew's Pizza for a slice and some water.
I'm already looking forward to next year... CHEERS!
