Well, like a lot of the US today, the Pacific Northwest is getting crushed by some winter weather. Don't worry, I'm not going to try to get in a #weather-off with you and your weather.
It's winter, it's all shit.
On Thursday after work I ran by the grocery store to pick up some supplies for the weekend, thinking I would beat the Friday store crowd. Well, I was wrong af. At noon on Thursday the store was quite crowded with likeminded folks stocking up for the 2024 PNW #blizzload.
I love the snow and was looking forward to a Saturday sitting on the couch while watching the snow fall outside and hockey on the idiot-box next to the window. All 32 NHL teams are playing today, which does not happen often, so I figured I'd pick up a sixer of Crux Fermentation Project Future Forward IPA to celebrate zoning out on the weekend.
I finally got out of the store with my stuff, including a bag of peanuts in the shell, some chicken, and two pints of marked down Talenti Peppermint Bark Gelato 😋 $1.92 each!?!
I still have not tried the gelato, but the chicken is gone and there are just a few peanuts left in the 16oz bag. As I write this my LA Kings are getting crushed by the fucking Detroit Red Wings so I'm watching the Lightning v Ducks on TV (muted) and listening to the Maple Leafs play the Avalanche.
I love the Maple Leafs radio announcers so I turn on their games when I can.
But let's get back to Thursday for a sec. Waking up for work at 4am on weekdays stops me from drinking alcohol on weekdays for the most part, however, Thursday was different. For some reason I thought it'd be a good idea to try one of these Northwest IPAs after dinner. It was tasty, so I had another :D
I went to bed shortly after and at my regular time, so it's not like I tied one on or anything. That being said, it was still not easy to get up Friday morning. Not a complaint, just a thing that is.
I still had four brewskis for my Saturday afternoon storm/hockey watching afternoon. While at work Friday the snow started to fall, as well as the temperature.
When I got home around 1pm, a couple inches of snow had fallen, so before I got in the house and cozy I grabbed the dog and took him for a snowy walk around the block. Boy he loved it sure!
Anyhow, 1,2 skip a few, 99, 100, I drank the rest of my #beersaturday stash Friday night
:(

Yeah, it was tasty, and yeah, there are only five beer cans in that photo. For some reason there is half an opened beer in my fridge today 😎 and it's still there.
This morning I tried to take Murphy out for a walk at 10ºF, but after three houses he stopped and, when coaxed, started walking limpy with his cold feet. I picked him up and carried him home and it was just the cutest thing 😍
After that, the day pretty much went like this...
And son, this shit is fun. I love storms, and we don't get them much in these parts. Our rain is usually a slow, endless rain, and when we get snow it's usually just below freezing and it's slow and steady. I love it all but when the temperature is a single digit number and the precipitation is moving sideways, I'm just that much happier :D
So today has been coffee, water, some good food like an egg and mushroom omelet with eggs and mushies from a friend that raises both, all the peanuts, and a cherry candy or three.
