So much to get to I don't even know where to start this post!?!
OK, now that the beginning is out of the way I can focus. First I'll just mention that the family pooled some money together and sent my 18 year old to Australia as a high school graduation gift. He arrived about 8 hours ago and is probably sleeping right now.
Sending an 18 year old kid halfway around the globe was not as hard (emotionally) as I thought it would be xD
There was almost a wrench in the gears though, when I found out a day before the trip he needed an Australian visa! There was a minute there I thought we were going to have to postpone the trip, but some hard work by his mom got the job done and he is there for the next two weeks.
I have been pretty tied up in the details of getting him there the last couple weeks and have not been posting as much as I'd like. Also my oldest just got her first car 😬😆
This coupled with all the regular busyness of summer has kept me, well, busy.
I've been spending too much time for my liking on Discord lately, so I erased the app from my phone. It's not that I don't like chatting with all the fine folks I chat with over there, it's more the time I spend reading other conversations I'm not part of. Sometimes I spend too much time on these and in the end it just seems like wasted time. The best way for me to deal with this is just remove the app from my phone. Same thing happens with games and tiktok :) I get too wrapped up and spend more time than I have on these apps so I have to trash them. No biggie though, my irl benefits.
I still have Discord on my PC, but until I can control myself better no more phone Discord.

This post is really about the 2024 SGS Las Vegas meetup in March.
Just going to toss a bunch of stuff out here for your consideration. I'd really love to hear your thoughts too.
As usual, we'll plan the meetup around the March coin show. In year 1 the show was the first weekend of March and last year it was on the third weekend of March 🤦♀ The show is put on by CKShows and as of today they do not have the 2024 show dates published on their website so, for now, there are no concrete dates for our meetup, but it will be sometime in March, 2024

We've got some new members recently and some older members that were going to come to the first one but Covid restrictions and some other things kept you away. I think we've been 8 or 9 strong the last couple years but I sure would love to see that number double! If you've not met-up with other Hivers before I can say from experience it's great! Most of us are familiar with each other through posts and Discord so meeting in real life is easy. It really just feels like getting together with old friends.
