I wanted to be a bit dramatic in writing this post because I think I've shared a lot about my phone and I on this platform before now. But I'm choosing to just be calm and share how it has been between my phone and I for a while now. It's no lie that the phone is rapidly eating into our attention as humans, it's impossible not to see.
On the other side, the phones have been a source of blessings, income and many other benefits for many of us and I am no exception. Since 2021, my life have been touched in so many ways because I got some information how to use my phones to work and earn money, learn new things and even grow on skills that will pay me in future.
With my phone, I can be anywhere and that meant, being even in places I shouldn't be in and it took a long time for me to realize this. I remember the years after I was done with school, how I kept updating my movie list with Korean series. Those were fun times but I got to learn over time that I was unconsciously wasting away.
Just some months back, I got even a more better understanding that I could do more with my phone instead of wasting away time to scroll or watch videos that aren't adding much to my value. Aside earning with phone, there's now very few things I do with my phone since I learned and unlearned about my dependency on my phone.
No doubt, I was fully dependent on my phone just until earlier this year when I began to go hours without my phone. It's still a serious work in progress for me to let go of my phone and do something outside of it but it's easier now than when I started. From my last stat, I stayed away from my phone for over 6 hours during the day.
Well, it was because I was on about something that I held very dear and it made me realize that I truly have a life outside of my phone that needs a lot of attention even more than I give my phone. I will always have to depend on my phone for some things but I am learning very well how not to spend all the time on my phone nowadays.
So in all honesty, I am still dependent on my phone but it isn't as bad as before and that is a lot of progress I am grateful for. I'm still looking forward to living more outside and beyond what my phone will offer. If there is one thing I've learned about spending too much time on my phone, it is that my life outside the phone is on pause and I know well how much time is going.
So with or without phone, I am slowly learning to be dependent on the things that will bring value and not put a pause on my life, I seek progress.
