I've been going through these old poems. The folder on my hard drive appears to be from 2011/12 although some of the poems themselves are older, coming from my high school journals. Yikes! Here's another one.
silent song
i sing to you
with my eyes
this song of last good byes
that my lips
will never speak
my heart has shed
its armor
and relinquished
its sword
truer words
never will be heard
than
farewell, my love
my soul's approaching
weary
so your victory is hollow
praise is undeserved
there is no solid space
to hold me
so i'll float up and away
how unworthy is my voice
to scream and wail
in the final days
useless indecision
clouds my head
thinking of the future
is too emotional for me
so here i'll close my eyes
and pray for sleep
my blood is pounding
stomach tight
with anticipation
palms are slick with sweat
this is the journey
that i wished for
please don't grieve
i'll be watching from my haven
as the moments slip away
all the
pain will fade and trouble
will be
a bitter memory
but before you close the door
please hear my song
