Sunlight powers the solar panel which charges the batteries and powers the Solar Cam which means no cables to connect and no batteries to recharge. Solar Cam goes to sleep mode when nothing happens in order to conserve battery. Even though its infrared sensors is always watching and monitoring the heat changes and wakes up and starts recording the event.
