I haven't seen the defunding plan yet either but my guess is that city council wants as away from that as they can get. Most likely they would turn the city policing over to the county sheriff department and pay the county for the services. I couldn't see them trying to "privatize" the service and having to take the low bid as most government contracts are awarded to the lowest bid. That would be even more dangerous than what they have right now.

Nazi Germany policing tactics for sure are on display in the USA right now, I hope that my grandchildren don't have to look back and say' "It's hauntingly similar to the USA right before WW III" or the second civil war of the United States.
