It will be up to people who aren't protesting to get involved with attending city council meetings and county board meetings to keep this in front of the elected folks once the protesters run out of steam or all end up arrested. I saw a clip a an elected official who wanted to speak at one of the protests and he was caught on a "hot mic" saying if he wasn't facing an opponent in a primary election this year that he wouldn't even care. Not only did he say it once, but he repeated it because the guy he was talking with pretended he couldn't quite hear him.
The more protest that occur the more police actions are coming to light like Buffalo and Indy. In case you didn't see those look at some of the replies to me from @bigtom13 as he provided the links to those clips.
