I didn't catch that Hertz bankruptcy announcement but I'm not surprised by it either. Give it some time though before you start used car shopping; surely there will be a government bailout program tailored for them. If not though it would be a buyers market for sure.
"Michigan is in deep right now." you say. They are "in deep" on many different levels not just the rain and flooding. I saw a news clip showing that while governor is demanding everyone stay at home and not travel her family packed up and went to their vacation home in a different part of the state. The elite have a different mindset when it comes to rules. It runs along the line of "we make the rules for YOU to follow, not us."
Reminds me of here in Texas where the state lawmakers have special privileges traveling to and from the state capital in Austin when the legislature is in session. One state representative from Houston got pulled over on I-10 for doing around 100 mph by the highway patrol and couldn't write the guy a ticket because he was on his way home from the legislative session.
The rep even went as far as saying the patrol officer needs to be more careful in who decides to stop, he should have seen my license plate, or something of that nature. That is how stupid and arrogant these law makers are; even a person with better than 20/20 vision couldn't read a license plate at 100 mph. The law maker isn't in the state legislature any longer, now he is the mayor of Houston. This explains why Houston is so guzbucked up right now.
