Oh and another part the debate now comes to mind: the flac v mp3 matter. Does it matter. So many factors that go for or against, (flac can't be read in my car; mediaplayer won't burn it onto CD, but the quality is supposed to be better on a decent pair of speakers). Then there is the matter of convertability, what happens if you convert flac to mp3 after it has been ripped. The Wiz Kid claims it's all the same. I don't know why I even bothered asking him. His idea of music is jackhammers pounding in overdrive. Goes to show, you give a kid your best, and they would have been happy to have had your worst.

So curious now, if you also have a strong view (music lovers tend to have strong views I've noticed) on what format is best and whether it would make any difference (to a good pair of ears) for the test I shall be undertaking?

Lay on more language if you have it. I am excited for my breakthrough moment. Until then I know virtually nothing. I mean what IS exactly lost anyway? What information can one format hold and another not. High tones, low tones, volume, the text that sometimes scrolls past, sometimes not...? There has to be a juicier answer.
