It is wonderful to consider the sweet spot of listening, but it's becoming harder to trust the ears and more necessary to please them by excluding certain sounds to avoid torture. Notwithstanding the fact every day is full of some kind of music, the direct concerns for my string of questions was sadly quite theoretical and meant to settle discussions once and for all with hard facts. But you have encouraged me to test my ears, and memory and find a recording I am familiar with, which is quite a tall order. Like when they want you to bring your favorite music in when you are testing speakers. No clue what to bring!

Don't ask me my prefrences. As I child you just make do with whatever you are given (in my case zero music, aside the Terry Wogan show in the morning during my ride to school; and I grew up afraid of it, can you believe. Perish the thought it touch my heart! Have I gone mad!? my parents would say.) As self-taught adult I have a reference library of music now. Do I know any music properly? I have trouble recognising tunes. I am happy if I can identify a cover. Putting song to singer is a challenge I usually fail at. But I am not tone deaf (just recently going progressively deaf, pretty fast) and I can hit notes, but I can feel the brain doing overtime where it should not. I hear too much. I have the feeling the time is nigh, I am just going to surrender and sink in to all this music I have. What gift to self. Can't wait. I am going to be self-indulgent. Don't tell anyone.
