¡Noche de flamenco, tinto de verano y una rica parrilla! [ESP/ENG]

¡Hola amigos! Por poco olvido comentarles un poco de esta bonita experiencia, pues a inicio de mes Flor me comento de este evento, ella sabe muy bien que yo amo el flamenco, de pequeña fue el estilo de danza que más me impacto y quise seguir practicando, no pude por razones externas a mí, pero el flamenco siempre será parte de lo que hizo que me enamorara del mundo de la danza. Spectros Teatro junto con Fuego Gitano, una academia reconocida de flamenco aquí en la Isla, harían un espectáculo inspirado en Federico García Lorca quien fue poeta, dramaturgo y director teatral. No me podía perder este evento, la verdad es que la publicidad prometía una noche llena de flamenco, poesía y pasión por el arte.

Llegamos temprano para conseguir buenos asientos, la entrada nos costó 10$ por cierto, al pasar media hora de la hora indicada para comenzar nos informaron que estaban esperando a que llegaran las demás personas, el espectáculo debía comenzar a las 6:00pm y comenzó a las 8:00, dos horas después, cosa que me desagrado un poco, digo, para quienes si llegaron a la hora es una falta de respeto, mientras iban cantando pedimos una parrilla que estaba deliciosa, la entrada incluía cerveza o tinto de verano, como no suelo beber alcohol opte por el tinto de verano. El show también me decepciono un poco, pues bailaron solo dos veces flamenco, el resto leyeron poemas y cantaron, me habría gustado ver más ambas cosas juntas, más, el canto estuvo bonito, al menos disfrutamos de buena comida y un rato diferente a lo cotidiano.

Hello friends! I almost forgot to tell you a bit about this lovely experience. Earlier this month, Flor told me about this event; she knows very well that I love flamenco. It was the dance style that made the biggest impression on me when I was young, and I wanted to keep practicing it—though I couldn't due to circumstances beyond my control. Still, flamenco will always be part of what made me fall in love with the world of dance. Spectros Teatro, together with Fuego Gitano—a renowned flamenco academy here on the island—were putting on a show inspired by Federico García Lorca, the poet, playwright, and theater director. I couldn't miss this event; the publicity promised a night filled with flamenco, poetry, and a passion for art.

We arrived early to get good seats—tickets cost $10, by the way. Half an hour past the scheduled start time, we were told they were waiting for more people to arrive. The show was supposed to start at 6:00 PM but didn't begin until 8:00 PM—two hours late. That bothered me a bit; I mean, it’s disrespectful to those who actually arrived on time. While they were singing, we ordered a mixed grill platter that was delicious. The ticket price included a beer or a tinto de verano (red wine with lemon soda); since I don't usually drink alcohol, I opted for the tinto de verano. The show itself was a bit of a letdown, though; there were only two flamenco dance numbers, while the rest of the time was spent reading poems and singing. I would have liked to see more of both combined. Still, the singing was lovely, and at least we enjoyed good food and a break from the daily routine.
