We all depend on others in our life in some way or the other. While we talk about independence, none of us is completely Independent and as a matter of fact, can't be.

We are experts in our areas and fields but for other things, we outsource. The moment we outsource, we become dependent. But that doesn't mean it is a problem. It is perfectly fine to depend on others for some things because we can't be masters of all.

The real problem lies when we depend on a person. Let me explain what I'm trying to say. If I don't like to wash my clothes, I hire a laundry person to do it for me. One day, that laundry person quits his job. At that point in time, I should immediately find someone else who can do that job for me. Simple!

So outsourcing and depending on someone for something is never a problem, but the problem arises when that someone is just one.

Something similar happened to me a few days back when my household left. She used to do my house job alongside managing my child. When she left, I felt a void in my life because I depended on her so much for stuff that training someone else from scratch was a pain for me. Every new house help I interviewed lacked some of the other qualities which made me reject her. So it became a big-time problem for me because I was depending on just her for my work rather than depending on a person. The best thing should have been to hire someone else who van quickly be trained to do my job my way. That's it.

So dependency is not bad, in fact, it is very much required at times. But must be managed wisely.
