A few days ago, I made an article regarding my first impressions in the new reward system based on staked SPS. You can check that post here. In that article, I emphasized how much I was earning in the new structure in the Silver league. And with the 10,000 SPS that I got delegated to by Leveluplife and my own 2,000, I was sitting at around a 10x multiplier. I feel comfortable with this position. I can go and triple my staked SPS but that would just give me an additional 2x multiplier which I might try to explore in the future. But for now, 10x is a good spot for me.
And then out of curiosity, before the last season ended, I decided to cross the Gold III territory and was hit with a lower multiplier. This was a double whammy for me since on top of having nerfed reward points, I also have silver level cards rented out. And needless to say, my win rate when I crossed into gold was not pretty.
On top of that, my 15 gold chests from the end of season got me mediocre pulls. There was a couple of common cards, a few SPS tokens, and 30 legendary potions.
Now if we compare that to my recent daily chest opening in Silver I, I'd say it's better since I've gotten two copies of Lobb Lowland which I badly need to get to level 4.
Of course this is all random, but in my opinion, I'll be happier with acquiring plenty of silver chests than a handful of gold chests. So for this season, I would stay clear of the gold league and keep on playing within silver.
Looking Forward to the Future
As I played more silver league matches, I noticed that there were times when I've gotten a losing streak. There are instances where the opponents were very good. I don't know if it can be attributed to the battle helper which I haven't personally looked into yet. And there's also the incoming banning of bot accounts in the modern format. This may make the wait times longer and the battles even harder as it will be human vs human interaction most of the time.
But despite all those challenges, I am very hopeful in the future of Splinterlands. Even without a battle helper, I know I can formulate my own strategies and slowly complete my modern silver-level collection. In the future, I hope that I would no longer need to rent cards and I can earn daily rewards consistently. Only time will tell if this will eventually become a reality but I truly believe in the team and community behind this game.
