HERE COMES A NEW SUMMONER!.png

The Splinterlands Town Hall has just concluded and the official summary can be read here. And my key takeaway for this event is the reveal of the next Conflict reward card, Elias Max Pruitt.

I've been waiting for the legendary summoner for Life-Water splinter combination and this one is more focused on armor. For seven mana, Elias Max gives one point buff on melee and armor plus an option to bestow Repair-Cleanse or Armored Strike-Piercing abilities to one unit.

I immediately thought of Legionnaire Alvar when I saw this summoner. He is one of the most armored unit in the current modern format. Giving him Armored Strike and Piercing at the same time might make him a deadly force on the battlefield.

Another card that I'm thinking of would be Imperial Knight but in a more defensive strategy. Giving him Heal, Repair, and Cleanse would make him a very strong frontline tank.

But when it comes to the Water splinter, I definitely would want to try him out with Diemonshark. Having it trample over multiple enemy monsters with piercing all while in an enraged state would be a spectacle to see.

But all of the monsters I've mentioned are from the Chaos Legion set. And soon, they will rotate out of the modern format and a new meta would shape. This means new monsters that can synergize well with Elias might be coming in the near future.

And I can't help but compare Elias Maxx Pruitt to Chanseus the Great from the Untamed set. Both give repair but Chanseus is clearly strictly better since the summoner itself does the repair and it does not go away when a monster dies. The same goes for Triage heal and Resurrect. But for the modern format, Elias Maxx Pruitt might shift the meta, especially for me who loves playing with the Life Splinter.

But for now, I would still say my priority would be to increase my battle wagons as the ability to buy them through voucher tokens are closing really soon. I may not be able to compete directly in the Conflict system when it's available but I'll try and purchase it in the secondary market instead.
